Nathan Aldridge has been working in the cheese industry since 2005, when he started as a humble cheesemonger at Murray’s Cheese in New York City. While working at Murray’s Nathan found his passion for cheese and specialty retail and was recognized for his abilities to provide over-the-top customer service, build interesting and impactful displays, train new mongers, manage several facets of the business, motivate his team to have fun and sell cheese; leading his team of cheesemongers to meet and exceed budget year after year.
Of course, he quickly rose through the ranks and held several positions during his tenure at Murray’s. Nathan was also instrumental in the success of the rollout of Murray’s into Kroger stores; opening 350 shops during his time. He also helped develop and implement the famed Red Jacket Training, where he had a hand in training over 4,000 cheesemongers!
If you ask him, Nathan would tell you that he is and always will be a Cheesemonger. His love for what he does shines through in his attitude and the way he works with others. From the board room to the cheese counter, Nathan has found that he can excel in any area of the business, but his heart will always remain on the cheese counter with his mongers, fulfilling his dream of making Cheesemonger a job where anyone can learn, grow, and share their passion for the one thing that brings us all together, cheese!
